Vastu Shastra has a reputation for demanding expensive renovations — knock down this wall, move that door — and that keeps many people from engaging with it. In practice, most Vastu-aware living comes from small, reversible choices rather than structural change.

A few low-cost starting points: keep the north-east corner of a room (the Ishaan zone) light and uncluttered, since it is traditionally associated with clarity and calm. Where you can choose, position a work desk so you face east or north. Traditionally, mirrors facing a bed are discouraged — an easy adjustment if you have one.

None of this requires construction. Applied reasonably, Vastu is closer to intentional interior design with a few extra principles layered in than to a renovation project.
